About the MTN MUSON Music Scholarship Programme
The MTN MUSON Music Scholarship Programme is a partnership between the MTN Foundation and the Musical Society of Nigeria (MUSON) aimed at developing talented young Nigerian musicians.
Since its launch in 2006, the programme has provided full scholarships to gifted students, enabling them to study for an internationally recognized Diploma in Music at the MUSON School of Music in Lagos.
Over the years, many graduates have built successful careers as performers, music educators, composers, and industry professionals both within Nigeria and internationally.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the MTN MUSON Music Scholarship Programme, applicants must:
1. Be a Nigerian citizen.
2. Be between 18 and 35 years old at the time of application.
3. Possess a Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or GCE O’Level with at least five credit passes, including English Language, obtained in not more than two sittings.
4. Hold a Grade 5 or higher certificate in Music Theory and Practical from any of the following recognized examination bodies:
- MUSON
- ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music)
- Trinity College London
- Any other music examination body approved by MUSON.

Selection Process
