The Kaohsiung Medical University (KMU) International Scholarship 2026/2027 offers financial assistance to exceptional international students enrolling in undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programmes at one of Taiwan’s top medical institutions.

Depending on the scholarship awarded, beneficiaries may receive tuition fee waivers, accommodation assistance, monthly stipends, or a combination of these benefits to help reduce the cost of studying abroad.

The Spring 2027 application cycle is currently open for eligible master’s and PhD applicants, while students interested in undergraduate programmes will be able to apply during the next Fall admission period.

The scholarship is offered in four categories, with each category providing different levels of financial support.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the KMU International Scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be a non-Taiwanese (non-R.O.C.) citizen.
  • Apply for and gain admission to an eligible programme at Kaohsiung Medical University.
  • Meet the admission requirements of their chosen programme.
  • Not be receiving another Taiwanese government scholarship or another KMU scholarship simultaneously.

For current KMU students applying for scholarship renewal:

  • Undergraduate students must maintain a minimum average score of 70.
  • Master’s and PhD students must maintain a minimum average score of 80.

How to Apply for the KMU International Scholarship

Step 1: Choose the Appropriate Admission Intake

Select the intake that matches your level of study.

Undergraduate applicants should apply during the Fall intake.
Master’s and PhD applicants may apply during the current Spring intake.

Step 2: Submit Your Admission Application

Complete the online admission application through the official KMU admissions portal.

Applicants may apply for the number of programmes permitted by the university.

Step 3: Select the Scholarship Option

During the admission application process, indicate that you wish to be considered for the KMU International Student Scholarship.

A separate scholarship application is not required.

Step 4: Upload Supporting Documents

Upload all required documents in the format specified by KMU.

Ensure every document is complete and clearly legible.

Step 5: Wait for Evaluation

Your application will be reviewed by:

  • The academic department
  • The International Academic Committee

Admission decisions and scholarship decisions are made separately. Receiving admission does not automatically guarantee a scholarship.
