Academic Staff Positions and Requirements
The university is recruiting into seven academic departments. Requirements for each position are as specified below.
1. Professor
Candidates must possess a PhD in the relevant discipline with a minimum of 15 years of university teaching and research experience, including at least three years served as a Reader (Associate Professor). Extensive publications in reputable journals, evidence of academic leadership, and membership of relevant professional bodies are required.
2. Reader (Associate Professor)
A PhD is required alongside at least 12 years of university teaching or research experience, including a minimum of three years as a Senior Lecturer. A strong publication record, demonstrated research productivity, and evidence of mentorship capacity are mandatory.
3. Senior Lecturer
Candidates must hold a PhD with no fewer than nine years of teaching and research experience, including at least three years as a Lecturer I in a recognised university. Demonstrable evidence of publications and active professional engagement is compulsory.
4. Lecturer I
A Master’s degree in the relevant field is the minimum qualification, with at least six years of teaching and research experience, including a minimum of three years as a Lecturer II in a recognised university. A PhD is an advantage. Scholarly publications are required.
5. Lecturer II
Candidates need at least a Master’s degree in the relevant field plus a minimum of three years as an Assistant Lecturer in a recognised university, or alternatively a PhD in the relevant field. Evidence of research output, such as published papers, workshop participation, or conference presentations, is an advantage.
6. Assistant Lecturer
A Master’s degree in the relevant field is required. Evidence of research potential is desirable.
7. Graduate Assistant
A first degree with a minimum of Second Class Upper (2:1) from a recognised university is required. Candidates must demonstrate a genuine interest in pursuing an academic career.
Non-Teaching Staff Positions and Requirements
The university is also recruiting for 13 non-teaching roles. Requirements for each position are as specified below.
1. Medical Officer
An MBBS degree and full registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) are required. Post-qualification clinical experience is an advantage.
2. Medical Scientist
A B.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Science is required, along with current registration by the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
3. Technologist
An HND, B.Tech, or B.Sc. in a relevant technical field is required. Registration with the applicable professional body is mandatory.
4. Nursing Officer
Candidates must hold RN/RM qualifications and, where applicable, a B.Sc. in Nursing. A current licence from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) is required.
5. Confidential Secretary
A National Diploma (ND) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Secretarial Studies is required, alongside proven ICT proficiency and strong communication skills.
6. Engineer
A B.Eng. or B.Tech. in a relevant engineering discipline is required. Registration with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) is an added advantage.
7. Planning Officer
A B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Geography, or a related field is required. Experience in educational planning is desirable.
8. Statistician

9. Administrative Officer
A bachelor’s degree in the Social Sciences, Humanities, Education, or a related discipline is required. Strong communication and organisational skills are essential.
10. Accountant II
A B.Sc. or HND in Accounting is required. Professional certification from ICAN or ANAN is an added advantage.
11. Data Processing Assistant
An OND or HND in Computer Science or a related field is required, along with practical ICT skills and the ability to manage data systems.
12. Motor Driver/Mechanic
A minimum of SSCE is required, along with a valid driver’s licence and Trade Test certificates. Demonstrable vehicle maintenance experience is also required.
13. Laboratory Attendant
SSCE with credits in science subjects is required. Prior experience in laboratory assistance is an advantage.
