The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially opened its 2026 Recruitment Exercise, confirmed through a public notice published in the Daily Trust newspaper on Monday, 20 July 2026. This is a genuine, currently active exercise for entry-level permanent positions on Grade Levels 07, 08, 09, 10, and 12, distinct from INEC’s separate ad-hoc staff engagement for individual elections. Applications run from Monday, 20 July 2026 to Monday, 27 July 2026, a tight one-week window.
About the Exercise
INEC has stated that this recruitment is aimed at strengthening the Commission’s institutional capacity in electoral administration, voter registration, data management, election logistics, and other critical electoral operations in furtherance of its constitutional mandate. The Commission is headquartered at Plot 436 Zambezi Crescent, Maitama District, Abuja.
This exercise brings new permanent staff directly into INEC’s structure across a range of professional and administrative cadres, reflecting the Commission’s ongoing need for qualified legal, medical, IT, engineering, financial, and administrative personnel to support its electoral operations year-round, not just during active election periods.
