Niger State teacher recruitment for 2026/2027 has not been published, and the Niger State Universal Basic Education Board (Niger SUBEB) has not posted a recruitment or screening notice on its news page. If you applied for a teaching post, there is currently no official list to check. This page explains who publishes Niger State shortlists, how to check one when it appears, and what to prepare for screening.

Shortlisting is free. Niger State does not charge applicants for forms, screening or shortlisting. Do not pay anyone who claims to have a slot, a name on the list or a way to move you up. Check only the official state and board channels.

Current Status: 2026/2027

The Niger SUBEB website, nigersubeb.ni.gov.ng, lists recent news on school engagement with education secretaries across the 25 local government areas, legacy school construction, school maintenance funds and project inspections. None of those items is a teacher recruitment, screening or shortlist notice. The board’s contact details are on its site: Block D, Old Secretariat Complex, Minna, and contact@nigersubeb.ni.gov.ng.

How Niger State Shortlists Have Been Described

Job listings from earlier Niger State teacher exercises describe the following process. These come from third-party listings rather than a current official notice, so use them as a guide only.

  • Shortlisted candidates are invited to a computer-based test (CBT) or screening.
  • The email address used on the application notifies invited candidates.
  • The full list is posted on the board’s portal and its official social media page.
  • Each candidate must note the screening date, batch, venue and time. A candidate who does not report within the stated time is treated as having declined the offer.

Because notifications go by email, an old or wrong address could mean missing an invitation, so check the inbox and spam folder of the email you registered with.

How to Check the Niger State Shortlist When It Is Released

  1. Open the Niger SUBEB website at nigersubeb.ni.gov.ng for primary school posts, or the Niger State Government portal for secondary school posts.
  2. Look for a section on recruitment or shortlisted candidates and open the full list.
  3. Choose the notice that matches the post or subject you applied for.
  4. Search for your name, application number, or email on the list.
  5. Read the instructions on the date, venue and documents before you travel.

If your name is missing, do not assume you are out of the process until the board has stated that the list is final.

Documents to Prepare for Screening

Listings about earlier exercises mention the following items, so gather them early.

  • A valid means of identification, such as a driver’s licence, national ID, voter’s card, NIN slip or international passport.
  • Original academic and professional certificates with photocopies.
  • A printout of your application or proof of application.
  • Recent passport photographs.
  • Birth certificate or age declaration.
  • State of origin or local government of origin certificate.
  • TRCN registration or certificate, which is listed as an advantage.

Third-party listings about the Niger SUBEB exercise list a minimum of NCE, with OND, HND and degree holders also encouraged to apply; five O-level credits in not more than two sittings, including English Language and Mathematics; an age range of 18 to 50; medical fitness; and Nigerian citizenship. Candidates were also expected to accept posting within their local government area of origin. Subjects mentioned include English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science and Christian and Islamic Religious Studies. Treat these as a guide and confirm the requirements in any new notice.
