NABTEB Result Checker 2026: How to Check Your NABTEB Result Online and by SMS

Last updated: 21 October 2026

The NABTEB result checker is the online portal where candidates of the National Business and Technical Examinations Board check their results. It runs at eworld.nabteb.gov.ng, and you need your candidate number and a NABTEB scratch card to use it. You can also check your result by SMS.

The 2026 June/July NBC and NTC results are already out. NABTEB announced them on 2 September 2026 in Benin, and 81.24% of graded candidates made five credits including English Language and Mathematics. This guide shows how to check your result, what each field on the portal means, and what to do if the result does not show.

Quick facts

What you need before you start

• Your candidate number. It is the number on your NABTEB photocard and registration slip, for example 38001178.
• The exam type and year, such as May/June 2026 or Nov/Dec 2025.
• A NABTEB scratch card. The card has a serial number that starts with a letter (for example N123456789) and a 12-digit PIN under the scratch panel.
• A phone or computer with internet, or a phone that can send SMS for the SMS method.

How to check online

1. Go to eworld.nabteb.gov.ng. Type the address yourself to avoid copycat sites.
2. Enter your candidate number in the first box.
3. Choose your examination type from the list, for example MAY/JUN for the June/July school exam or NOV/DEC for the private exam.
4. Choose the examination year (the portal lists every year from 1997 to 2026).
5. Enter the card serial number exactly as printed, including the letter at the start.
6. Scratch the card gently and enter the 12-digit PIN.
7. Click Submit. Your result appears on the screen. Print it or save a screenshot for school and admission use.

NABTEB warns candidates not to enter an invalid email address on the portal, because a failed email delivery still counts as one of your card uses.

How to check by SMS

If you cannot get online, send an SMS to 32327 in this format, with no spaces:

*NABTEBExamNoPINExamTypeExamYear*

Use MJ for May/June and ND for Nov/Dec. Here is how each part fits together:

Example 1 (May/June 2026): send *NABTEB38001178012345678912MJ2026 to 32327*.

Example 2 (Nov/Dec 2025): send *NABTEB38001178012345678912ND2025 to 32327*.

Replace the sample numbers with your own and put a star (*) between each part, with no spaces. The reply comes by SMS, and normal network charges apply. The SMS method is useful for a quick look, but schools usually ask for the printed online result.

NABTEB scratch card: price and rules

NABTEB’s own FAQ lists the approved price of the scratch card at ₦250. Many vendors and online resellers charge more because they add delivery and service fees, so compare before you buy. You can buy the card at any NABTEB zonal office, and NABTEB also runs an online e-PIN portal at epins.nabteb.gov.ng.

• One card checks one candidate’s result, up to five times.
• Do not use a card that has already been used for another candidate. It will be rejected.
• Keep the card after checking. You may need the serial number and PIN again for admission screening.

Is the NABTEB result out?

Yes for the June/July 2026 series. NABTEB’s Registrar, Dr Mohammed Aminu Mohammed, announced the 2026 NBC/NTC results on 2 September 2026, 52 days after the last paper. Of 97,863 candidates graded, 79,503 (81.24%) made five credits including English and Mathematics, up from 68.18% in 2025. 89,580 candidates (91.53%) made five credits with or without English and Mathematics.

The Nov/Dec 2026 series is for private candidates, and its results come out after that exam ends. NABTEB has not announced a release date. Check the NABTEB website and the eWorld portal rather than relying on rumours of a date.

Common result checker errors and fixes

Using the result for admission

JAMB and Nigerian universities, polytechnics and colleges accept the NABTEB NBC/NTC certificate as an O’Level result, and many candidates combine it with WAEC or NECO in two sittings. After checking, upload the result to your JAMB profile at an accredited centre so schools can see it on CAPS. Our guide to uploading your O’Level result to JAMB explains the process, and the JAMB CAPS login guide shows how to follow your admission.

If you also wrote another exam, see how to check your NECO result and how to check your WAEC result.

Beware of result “upgrade” scams

Nobody can change or “upgrade” a NABTEB result for money. NABTEB’s Registrar has warned candidates about people who make that claim. Check your result only on eworld.nabteb.gov.ng or by the official SMS code, and never send your PIN to strangers.
