General Requirements

• Nigerian citizenship: Must be a Nigerian citizen
• Age: Must not be above 35 years at the time of application
• O-Level results: Minimum of five (5) credit passes in SSCE, WAEC, NECO, or GCE, including English Language and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings
• NYSC Certificate: Discharge Certificate or Exemption Letter is mandatory for all degree and HND holders
• Certificate of State of Origin: Duly signed by your LGA Chairman or Secretary

2. Click on ‘Recruitment’ at the top of the home page.

3. Complete the prescribed application form with accurate information: Full Names, Permanent Address, Local Government of Origin, Email/Phone Number, Date of Birth, State of Origin, Nationality, Marital Status, Academic Qualifications, Institutions Attended, and Course of Study.

4. Upload all required documents in the specified formats.

5. Review your completed application carefully.

6. Submit your application and print out the registration/acknowledgement slip. Keep it safely.

How to Apply to TESCOM (Secondary Schools)

For secondary school teaching positions, apply through the TESCOM/state government portal:

8. Create an account using a valid email address and phone number if required.

9. Select the available teaching vacancy and complete the online application form with accurate personal, educational, and professional details.

12. Submit your application and print your acknowledgment slip.

Critical rule: Submit ONLY ONE application. Candidates who submit multiple applications will be automatically disqualified.

What Happens After You Apply

• Shortlist publication: After the application portal closes, the shortlist of candidates selected for the aptitude test will be published on the official portal.
• Aptitude test: Shortlisted candidates are invited for a Computer-Based Test (CBT) or a written aptitude test. Monitor the portal and your registered email and phone for the invitation.
• Document verification: Candidates who pass the aptitude test attend physical screening where original copies of all submitted documents are verified.
• Interview: A panel interview may follow document verification preparation, which should cover your teaching subject area and Cross River State’s education priorities.
• Appointment: Successful candidates receive appointment letters and are deployed to teaching positions.
