About the Slovakia Government Scholarship

The Slovakia Government Scholarship, officially known as the Scholarships for Talented Students from All Over the World, is funded by the Ministry of Education, Research, Development and Youth of the Slovak Republic.

The programme is supported through the European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) and the Slovak Government’s national budget.

Its primary objective is to attract talented international students, including Slovak citizens living abroad, to study full time degree programmes at public universities across Slovakia.

The scholarship is available for:

  • Bachelor’s degree programmes
  • Combined Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes
  • Master’s degree programmes
  • Doctoral (PhD) programmes are not covered under this scholarship.

Scholarship Benefits

Successful applicants may receive the following benefits:

  • Scholarship worth €500 per month.
  • Funding for 10 months each academic year (September to June).
  • Maximum scholarship value of €15,000.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Slovakia Government Scholarship, applicants must:

1. Be a citizen of a country other than Slovakia.

2. Have no permanent or temporary residence in Slovakia from 1 January 2021 until the application deadline, except for approved exceptions such as Erasmus+ mobility or language preparation programmes.

3. Have no previous secondary or higher education completed in Slovakia, except through recognized academic exchange programmes.

4. Apply for or obtain admission to a full time programme at a participating Slovak public university.

5. Meet the required SAT score of at least 1100.

6. Study an eligible programme aligned with Slovakia’s Smart Specialisation Strategy.

7. Applicants under 18 years of age must submit parental or guardian consent.

Important: The SAT score is the primary selection criterion used to rank applicants.
