How to Use the WAEC GCE Timetable to Prepare

Getting the timetable is only the first step. Candidates should use it to organise their revision effectively.

1. Mark All Your Examination Dates

Go through the timetable and highlight every subject you registered for. Do not study according to the timetable from memory. Write down the exact dates and times of your papers.

    2. Start With the Subjects Coming First

Prioritise subjects scheduled earlier. This allows you to complete your revision before moving on to papers scheduled later.

      3. Create a Revision Schedule

Divide your available study time among your subjects. Subjects you find difficult may require more revision time than those you are already comfortable with.

        4. Practise Past Questions

Past WAEC questions can help you become familiar with the structure and types of questions that may appear in the examination.

Practise under timed conditions so that you become comfortable answering questions within the allocated period.

          5. Prepare for Practical and Oral Papers

Candidates taking subjects with practical, oral or alternative-to-practical papers should not focus exclusively on written examinations.

The 2026 timetable contains separate arrangements for subjects including Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geography, English Language, French, Arabic, Music, Agriculture, Foods and Nutrition and Visual Art.

Is the WAEC GCE 2nd Series Exam Computer-Based?

The 2026 WAEC GCE for private candidates is being conducted as a computer-based examination (CBE). Recent reporting on the 2026 Second Series confirms that the examination is scheduled for September and October and that WAEC has moved the private-candidate examination to a computer-based format.
