FUTA Admission Requirements 2025/2026
JAMB / UTME Requirements
- Minimum JAMB score: 180 in the 2025/2026 UTME
- First choice: FUTA must be selected as your first-choice institution; second-choice candidates are not admitted
- Correct subject combination: JAMB subject combination must match the requirements for your chosen course in the JAMB brochure
O-Level Requirements
- Minimum: Five (5) credit passes in WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, or GCE must include English Language and Mathematics
- Maximum sittings: Not more than two (2) sittings for most courses. Some courses require a one-time verification at futa.edu.ng
- Minimum age: Candidates must be at least 16 years old by the time of Post-UTME registration
Post-UTME Requirements
- All eligible candidates must register for and sit FUTA’s Post-UTME screening exercise
- Login credentials: Use your JAMB Registration Number as username and your surname as password
- Portal: Apply at www.futa.edu.ng when Post-UTME registration opens
- Upload: O-Level results and all required documents must be uploaded during registration
- Print: Your acknowledgment slip and payment receipt. Keep these safely for use on screening day
Direct Entry (DE) Requirements
- A-Level or IJMB: At least two principal passes in relevant subjects
- OND: Minimum Upper Credit from an accredited institution
- NCE: Minimum Merit in relevant subject areas
- Plus: All standard O-Level requirements and a JAMB Direct Entry registration

Tips to Maximize Your FUTA Admission Chances
- Target well above 180: Set your JAMB target at 220+ for Engineering and Computing courses. For Agriculture and Management Technology, 190+ gives you a meaningful competitive advantage.
- Take Post-UTME seriously: The Post-UTME contributes 50% to your aggregate. A score of 70%+ in the Post-UTME dramatically improves your aggregate regardless of your JAMB score.
- Study FUTA-specific Post-UTME past questions: FUTA’s CBT tests your JAMB subject combination with an emphasis on problem-solving and applied knowledge. Practice with FUTA past questions specifically.
- Make FUTA your first choice: FUTA does not admit second-choice candidates. Ensure FUTA is your first choice before registering for the Post-UTME.
- Ensure O-Level subject accuracy: Wrong subjects in JAMB or missing O-Level credits for your chosen course cause disqualification regardless of your aggregate score.
- Choose a course that matches your score: If your JAMB score is 180–190, target Agriculture, Management Technology, Environmental courses, and Physical Sciences rather than the most competitive Engineering programs.
