The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has officially released the shortlist of successful candidates for the Basic Military Training Course (BMTC) 46/2025 Selection Board Interview. These are candidates who passed the Zonal General Aptitude Test conducted at 15 NAF Bases nationwide on 5th December 2025. The Selection Board Interview, the most critical and demanding stage of the BMTC recruitment process, is scheduled at the Nigerian Air Force Base, Kaduna, from 27th April to 13th June 2026.

1. Open your browser and navigate to nafrecruitment.airforce.mil.ng. Verify you are on the correct URL before entering any details.

2. Locate the ‘Download List’ button on the homepage or in the recruitment updates section. You can also go directly to nafrecruitment.airforce.mil.ng/updates/.

3. Click to download and open the PDF file. Allow a few seconds for large files to load fully on mobile devices.

4. Press Ctrl + F (Windows) or Command + F (Mac/iPhone) to open the search bar. Type your full name exactly as registered, or use your application number for a precise match.

5. If your name appears, identify which batch applies to your state of origin and note your specific reporting date.

6. Save and print a copy of the shortlist page showing your name. Bring this printout to the interview venue as part of your document set.

Interview Batch Schedule By State of Origin

Candidates must report strictly on the dates assigned to their state of origin. Reporting on the wrong date or attempting to attend outside your designated batch will result in being turned away. The Air Force does not make exceptions.

Important: Confirm the exact interview dates for your batch on the official portal at nafrecruitment.airforce.mil.ng. Batch dates are subject to revision. Always verify from the official source, not from social media or secondhand information. Arrive at the venue early, ideally the evening before your reporting date, if you are traveling from another state.

Complete List of Mandatory Items for the Selection Board Interview

Document and item failures are the most common reasons shortlisted candidates are turned away at the interview venue. Begin gathering everything below immediately and organize it before your reporting date.

Academic and Identity Documents (Originals and Clear Photocopies of Each)

• First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC)
• WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB results certificate(s)
• ND, NCE, or Trade Test Certificate: where applicable to your qualification category
• Birth certificate or sworn age declaration: from the National Population Commission, a recognized hospital, or a Local Government Council
• Letter of State of Origin: signed and stamped by your LGA Chairman or Council Secretary
• National Identification Number (NIN) slip: confirm it is active and matches your application details
• Four (4) passport photographs: recent, on a white background. Bring additional copies as they are frequently requested
• Application acknowledgment slip: printed from the official recruitment portal
• WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, or NBAIS scratch card: for online result confirmation, where applicable
• Two (2) office flat files: to organize all your documents neatly, label each section clearly

Required Forms (Complete and Sign Before Your Reporting Date)

• Parent or Guardian Consent Form: completed and signed by a parent or recognized guardian
• Local Government Area Attestation Form: signed by a recognized authority, military officer, police officer, LGA Chairman, or magistrate
• Letter of Attestation of Good Character: from a person of recognized standing in your community

Note on attestation forms: Each attestation form must be accompanied by a passport photograph and a photocopy of a valid means of identification belonging to the signatory. Forms without these cannot be accepted.

Clothing and Welfare Items

• Two (2) white vests: plain, no graphics or logos
• Two (2) pairs of blue PT shorts
• One (1) pair of canvas shoes
• One (1) bedsheet and pillowcase
• One (1) blanket
• One (1) mosquito net

Pack all clothing and welfare items neatly in a bag you can carry to the venue. Candidates who arrive without the required clothing items may be denied participation in physical assessment stages.

What Happens at the Selection Board Interview

Stage 1: Document Verification

Air Force officials compare every original document you present against the copies submitted during your online application. Any discrepancy, including misspelt names, mismatched dates, unverifiable certificates, or missing documents, results in immediate disqualification. There is no appeal process at this stage. Organize your documents in a clearly labeled flat file the night before your reporting date.

Stage 2: Physical Assessment and Measurement

Height is confirmed against the minimum standards: Male: minimum 1.66 m; Female: minimum 1.63 m. Additional physical fitness assessments test strength and endurance. Candidates must arrive in genuine physical condition, not fitness built up in the past few days, but fitness maintained and developed consistently over the weeks since the shortlist was released.

Sleep consistently, eat balanced protein-rich meals, stay hydrated, and avoid alcohol or any substances that could affect your medical results.

Stage 3: Medical Examination

A comprehensive health assessment is conducted by NAF medical personnel. This covers vision, hearing, cardiovascular health, dental condition, blood pressure, and overall physical fitness for military service. Be completely honest about your medical history. Any condition concealed and later discovered leads to discharge and potential legal action.

Stage 4: Interview and Assessment

The selection board evaluates your communication skills, general awareness of the Nigerian Air Force’s mission and structure, personal motivation, and character. Prepare by familiarizing yourself with the NAF’s major commands, training schools, and operational bases. Understand the Air Force’s current roles in Nigeria’s national security framework. Be ready to explain clearly why you want to serve in the Air Force and what specific value you bring to the institution.
