The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) recruits for four federal paramilitary services through one official portal: recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng. This guide explains where the current exercise stands, the posts and requirements for each cadre, how to apply on the CDCFIB recruitment portal, what each stage involves, and how to avoid the fake notices that circulate around every exercise.

Is the CDCFIB Recruitment Form Out? (October 2026)

No new form is open. The Board is finishing its current exercise, which it calls the 2024/2025 recruitment exercise. The portal for that exercise opened on 21 July 2025 and closed on 11 August 2025. About 1.9 million people applied for roughly 30,000 places. A new application window will only open after this exercise ends and the Board announces the next one.

What Is CDCFIB?

CDCFIB is the federal board that recruits, promotes and disciplines officers of four services under the Ministry of Interior. It is chaired by the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and its Secretary is Major General A. M. Jibril (rtd). The four services are:

You apply to only one service per exercise. The Board disqualifies applicants who submit more than one application.

CDCFIB Cadres, Posts and Qualifications

Posts are grouped into three cadres. Your qualification decides which cadre and salary grade you apply for. The table below follows the 2025 advert.

  • A recent passport photograph
  • Professional certificates or licences where your post needs them (nursing, law, engineering, driving)

How to Apply on the CDCFIB Recruitment Portal

When the next window opens, the steps on recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng are expected to follow the last exercise:

  1. Go to recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng. Check the address carefully; look-alike domains appear during every exercise.
  2. Create an account with a working email address and the phone number linked to your NIN.
  3. Choose your qualification, then the service and post you want. Pick only one service.
  4. Enter your NIN and fill in your personal and education details exactly as they appear on your documents.
  5. Upload your passport photograph and the required documents.
  6. Preview, submit and print your application slip. Keep your Application Number safe; you will use it to log in at every later stage.

CDCFIB Selection Stages

  1. Computer-based test (CBT): shortlisted applicants sit an aptitude test. In the last exercise the Board moved the CBT online, so candidates took it from home.
  2. Physical screening and document verification: candidates log in, upload credentials and choose a screening centre and date. Officers check documents, height, eyesight and fitness.
  3. Oral interview: candidates who pass screening print an invitation letter and attend an interview. For the 2026 interviews, the Board asked candidates to wear a white T-shirt, white shorts or trousers, white sneakers and white socks.
  4. Final list and appointment: successful candidates are published on the portal and later receive appointment letters and training dates.

How Much Do CDCFIB Officers Earn?

The services pay under CONPASS (and CONHESS/CONMESS for health posts). The Board does not publish a salary table, so these monthly figures are estimates: about ₦70,000 to ₦90,000 for entry Assistant cadre posts (CONPASS 03–04), and about ₦170,000 to ₦210,000 for Assistant Superintendent II (CONPASS 08), before allowances.

When Does the CDCFIB Form Come Out?

There is no fixed season. Past windows opened in December (the 2022 NSCDC exercise ran from 7 to 21 December) and in June–August (the 2025 exercise). Each exercise takes about a year from application to final list, so a new window is unlikely until the current one closes.

Beware of Fake CDCFIB Notices

CDCFIB recruitment is free. Nobody should collect money for shortlisting, venue allocation, document upload, screening or final selection. The Board has disowned several fake notices, including an August 2026 release claiming the exercise had been suspended until after the 2027 elections; the Ministry of Interior confirmed it was false. Trust only recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng and official Board or Ministry of Interior channels.
