Candidates seeking admission into the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) now have until Sunday, October 4, 2026, to complete their 2026/2027 Post-UTME registration and screening. The university announced the seven-day extension in a special bulletin dated September 25, 2026, following the release of the 2026 NECO SSCE results.

This is the second extension of the exercise. Registration opened on July 6, 2026, and was first meant to close on August 30, before it was pushed to September 20. The new window gives candidates who sat for the NECO exam a chance to upload their results and finish the process.

Why FULafia Extended the Deadline

NECO released the 2026 SSCE (Internal) results on September 24, 2026, four days after FULafia’s second deadline had passed. That left many candidates who wrote NECO this year unable to upload their O’Level results in time.

The results were announced by NECO’s Registrar, Prof. Dantani Wushishi, in Minna. Out of 1,371,992 candidates who sat the exam, 804,948 (58.67 per cent) got five credits and above, including English Language and Mathematics. If you’re one of them, you can check your result using our NECO result checker guide.

The university’s management urged candidates who haven’t finished registering or uploading their NECO results to use this extra window and complete the process before it closes.

Who Can Apply and How to Register

To qualify, you must have chosen FULafia as your first-choice institution in the 2026 UTME. You also need at least five O’Level credits, including English Language and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings. Direct Entry applicants need at least a Merit or Lower Credit in their qualification.

Your UTME score must also meet the minimum for your course. Here are the cut-off marks FULafia published for the exercise.

CourseMinimum UTME Score
Most programmes170
Anatomy and Physiology200
Nursing and Radiography210
Medical Laboratory Science and Pharmacy220
Medicine and Surgery (MBBS)230

To register, go to my.fulafia.edu.ng and create an account with your JAMB registration number and email address. Fill in your biodata, pay the screening fee through the portal, and verify your O’Level results. Then print your application summary and payment receipt.

If you’ve already registered but were waiting for your NECO result, log back in and upload it now. Only pay through the university’s portal, and don’t give your login details to anyone offering to “help” you finish.

What Happens After Screening

Once registration closes, FULafia will review candidates’ UTME scores and O’Level results for their chosen courses. Meeting the cut-off mark makes you eligible for consideration, but it doesn’t guarantee admission, since popular courses like MBBS and Nursing have limited spaces.

Admission offers are then uploaded to JAMB CAPS, where successful candidates must accept or reject them. Keep checking your CAPS profile and the university’s portal after the screening window closes, and make sure the email you registered with is one you check often.
